The Whatcom County Youth Fair offers a fantastic opportunity for Teen Leaders and adults to collaborate in teaching youth participants.
This event is entirely organized by dedicated volunteers, including Teen Leaders, parents, and sponsors. Celebrating its 36th year, the Youth Fair is a hands-on, two-day learning experience for youth ages 6-18.
As a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, all our funds are reinvested into the fair for the benefit of our participants. We welcome youth from various locations, including Whatcom Skagit, Island Counties, Eastern Washington and as far south as Vancouver, WA.
We hope you'll join us!
We are dedicated to creating a positive and meaningful impact on youth and the community, while promoting agricultural education through hands-on learning opportunities, fostering mentoring systems, encouraging personal growth, and instilling community values.
The Whatcom County Youth Fair started in 1989 at the Everson Auction Barn with just 3 divisions.
Can you guess what divisions they were? We will give you a clue. Horses were not one of them.
Chris Paul was the heart and soul of the Whatcom County Youth Fair. She was the founder, Fair Manager, and long time supporter. She saw a need for youth to learn and try out new Divisions before hitting the larger fairs. She took what she saw as a need and turned it into a thing, we call The Whatcom County Youth Fair.
Unlike many other fairs we are 100% Volunteer run. We have ZERO paid staff members and rely on generous donations from businesses, sponsors, individuals, and the Washington State Fair Fund.
A great recap of the 2022 Lawn Mower Pulling Division.
MISSION STATEMENT: We are dedicated to creating a positive and meaningful impact on youth and the community, while promoting agricultural education through hands on learning opportunities, fostering mentoring systems, encouraging personal growth, and instilling community values.
